1. Access

The Association for Quality Education Ltd has provided for Access Arrangements to be made in advance of the Common Entrance Assessment (CEA) to facilitate a candidate to undertake the CEA.  Parents to whom this applies may enter by ticking “yes” in the appropriate section in part B on the Registration Form.  The closing date for the return of Access forms is 23rd September 2011.

2. Special Circumstances and Special Provision

The existence of Access Arrangements and the possibility of a pupil’s score being based on two out of three CEA papers should reduce the need for an adjustment to be made to a pupil’s score. Nevertheless schools operating the CEA are committed to covering instances where a child’s performance may have been affected by circumstances beyond his or her control (Special Circumstances) or where a child has been prevented from taking the CEA (Special Provision).

Guidance on Special Circumstances and Special Provision, which are referred to as Special Cases by some schools, along with the appropriate form the for the current year SC11, are now available.
